ENR study reveals industry’s top choice for accounting, estimating and more
According to the ENR 2003 Technology Study, Timberline provides the leading construction accounting and estimating software and the second most used project management application.

The sample of 418 ENR subscribers includes owners, presidents, controllers, vice presidents, general managers, project managers, and other titles. Businesses comprise consulting engineering, general contractors, subcontractors, and builders with an overall average IT budget of $347,000.

When respondents were asked which accounting, job cost or payroll software they use, 32.7% of the sample indicated Timberline. (The next most frequent software was Intuit Quick Books, mentioned by 19.1%.) Asked about a future purchase of accounting applications, another 47.1% said they would purchase Timberline software in the next 12 months.

Among respondents who were queried about their current estimating software, the top response — mentioned by 31.2% — was Timberline. Of the respondents with plans to buy estimating software in the next 12 months, half said they would choose Timberline.

Of the respondents who currently use project management or contract control software, 28.6% said they use Timberline. Among those who were likely to buy project management software in the next year, 15.6% said they plan to go with Timberline.

Another key finding that reveals the breadth of Timberline’s products was the percentage of respondents (54.9%) who were familiar with either Timberline’s Bid Management or BuildPoint, a Timberline partner. The recognition underscores the perception among businesses who view Timberline as the leading software provider that is able to consolidate operations by extending solutions across departments.
