Privacy
Any requests for information on our
public site is voluntary and may require your name and address
or e-mail address so we may correspond with you, process an
order, or provide you with ongoing information. Once we receive
your information, it is stored behind a firewall, accessible
only to employees who need it to perform their jobs and fulfill
your information requests and depending on the need
forwarded to the appropriate Sage Software business partner
or other third-party partner.
We intend to protect the quality and
integrity of the information that identifies you and/or
your company. We have implemented appropriate technical
and organizational measures to keep it secure. In addition,
we will make a diligent effort to respond in a timely
manner to requests.
Collection of data
We sometimes collect sometimes collects anonymous information to help provide
better customer service. For example, we keep track of the domains from which
people visit and we also measure visitor activity on the site, but we do so
in ways that keep the information anonymous, which is known as “clickstream
data.” Sage Software and its analytic vendors may use this data to analyze
trends and statistics and to help us provide better customer service. It is
data that remains with us, not to be sold to outside interests.
When we collect personal data from visitors in connection
with a transaction, we may extract some information about that transaction in
an anonymous format and combine it with other anonymous information such as
clickstream data. This anonymous information is used and analyzed only at an
aggregate level to help us understand trends and patterns. None of this information
is reviewed at an individual level. If you do not want your transaction details
used in this manner, you can either disable your cookies or opt-out at the order
or request page or by e-mailing permission.na@sage.com.
We collect the anonymous information
using “cookies.” A cookie is an element
of data that a website can send to your browser, which
may then be stored on your system. You can set your
browser to let you know when you’re receiving
a cookie, which gives you the chance to decide whether
to accept it. You can also set your browser to turn
off cookies. If you do so, however, some areas of some
sites may not function properly.
Opt-in e-mail and permission-based
marketing
We reserve the right to contact customers regarding important product or policy
announcements, including notices required by law. Customers and business partners
may receive e-mails to inform them about product news, specific software alerts,
and promotions that are based on a qualified level of interest. For “subscriptions”
to regular e-mail correspondences, your permission will be fully verified before
mailings begin. Opt-In accomplishes this by means of a confirmation request
sent to your e-mail address. You must reply to a registration form in order
to receive the subscription. Information you disclose in a registration form
will never be disclosed outside of Sage Software or to direct marketers other
than business partners, Timberline’s dealer network. You can unsubscribe
to subscriber-based e-mail easily at any time by responding to the e-mail at
the footer of every correspondence. You also have the option to contact us directly
at client.info.na@sage.com or 800
330-7164.
Client extranets and password-protected
Web pages
Because customer sites known as Gold Online, Precision Online,
and the Timberline Technical Support Knowledgebase are exclusive
to Sage Timberline Office customers, users are required to register a
valid e-mail address and log on using passwords and authentication.
In addition to maintaining these sites' exclusivity, we use
the registration information to contact the customer about
services on our site for which the customer has expressed
interest.
Sage Software will not release
your e-mail address or any other personal information to other
sites or business partners other than a Sage Software business
partner. Access to e-mail addresses is limited to Sage Timberline Office
support personnel who may need to contact users regarding
technical issues.
The extranet login system works by
setting a session cookie on your computer. The cookie
does not contain any personal information from your
registration, and is not sent to any other sites. If
your browser does not support cookies, however, you
will be unable to log in.
Sage Software is not responsible for material appearing in
the Forums area of Gold Online and Precision Online unless an authorized representative
of Sage Software has approved the material. Nevertheless, Timberline retains
the right to remove messages that include an advertisement, private information
on other users and/or Sage Software employees, and any material deemed abusive,
defamatory, obscene or otherwise unacceptable. Repeated offenses following a
written warning may result in expulsion from the forum.
Other Sage Software-affiliated sites that require
registration include Realtime Learning (online training),
Summit conferences, and Bid Management.
