Best Software's Timberline® Office selected for 2004 Editors' Choice—Top 100 Product Picks by Buildings magazine

The honor highlights advancements made by Timberline Office as fully integrated financial and operations software for the building lifecycle.

Beaverton, Ore. / December 15, 2004—Best Software announced today that the editors of Buildings magazine named Timberline Office as among the recipients of the 2004 Editors' Choice—Top 100 Product Picks, as reported in the publication's December issue. Timberline Office is a suite of integrated financial and operations software developed specifically for construction and real estate professionals.

The annual Editors' Choice recognizes those products and services that show the most potential for creating long-term gains for building owners and facilities management professionals. The editorial staff selected this year's recipients from among thousands of products reviewed. Winners were chosen by their respective performance characteristics, solutions applicability, uniqueness, and reader interest, among other factors.

In their product review summary, editors of Buildings magazine noted, "Trying to determine which (among many software options) is right for you? Timberline Office provides an integrated suite of construction software worth investigating."

The announcement is also the second recognition in recent years by the publication. In 2002, Timberline Office was an Editors' Choice for its introduction of Model Estimating, an application that provides a Q&A format to produce quick and detailed estimates, even before design drawings are available.

"This year's honor by Buildings magazine confirms the momentum we have experienced with Timberline Office," said Curtis Peltz, president and general manager of Best Software's Timberline Office product suite. "We've had a very positive response from our customers with our direction, and we look forward to 2005 as we continue our trend of customer-driven innovation."

Founded on its traditional strengths in accounting and estimating, Timberline Office was the first construction and real estate product to offer fully integrated applications that work from a single database in addressing the complete building lifecycle-from conceptual estimates, to building completion, and property management.

Recent Timberline Office additions include a complete change management system, part of the Project Management application, and Timberline Office Desktop, which provides a customizable screen that individual users can format to view tasks and reports specific to their work. In 2005, Timberline Office will introduce a one-of-a-kind, fully integrated Document Management system for tracking, indexing, storing, and retrieving project documents.
